Fulton Bag and Cotton Mills was founded in Atlanta in 1868 by Jacob Elsas, a German Jewish immigrant who recognized a shortage of agricultural bags in the South and built one of the largest bag manufacturing companies in the United States. These sacks are what that looked like in daily use.
Both marked Fulton "A" Seamless Extra Heavy. Same eagle above the circular logo. Same woven stripes running the length of the cotton. One sack is nearly white, stripes still crisp. The other is deeply patinated, darkened by decades of grain dust and use. Same mill. Same mark. Different lives. The eagle sits center back on the darker sack. The cleaner sack faces front. The contrast is built into the jacket.
Midi length. Open front. Dropped shoulder. Wide sleeve. Sewn slow.
