These two grain sacks were found together in Michigan. They had probably been together for decades before that.
Both are marked E.T. An ownership stamp, hand-drawn by whoever used these sacks to move grain through Michigan's agricultural cooperative system. One sack is Cincinnati "A" Seamless, extra heavy grade, a tubular-loom cotton built to last and circulate. The other is marked "PROPERTY OF CO-OPERATIVE ELEV. ASSN. NASHVILLE, MICH." A farmer-owned grain elevator cooperative that stamped its sacks to ensure their return. E.T. marked both.
E.T. sits down both sleeves in bold black paint. "PROPERTY OF CO-OPERATIVE ELEV. ASSN. NASHVILLE, MICH." fills the back in red and black. The Cincinnati mark sits across the front panel.
