Complete Chick - Feed Sack Pants | 1933–1935 | fits S-M

$275.00

these wide-leg pants are made from two original Maritime Milling Co. Inc. feed sacks out of South Buffalo, New York — both NRA-stamped, both dated precisely to 1933–1935. one sack carries the bold diagonal COMPLETE banner with an illustrated bird; the other carries a matching standing bird illustration with full ingredient panel. same company, two different printings of the same era.

the NRA eagle stamp places these squarely in the Great Depression. Maritime Milling ran out of South Buffalo until the late 1950s when the company went bankrupt and was demolished. these are what remain.

the cotton has aged to a soft natural cream, all printing in faded grey. two mends by me are part of the garment now. elastic waist, wide leg, easy movement.
