these wide-leg pants are made entirely from two original Bull Brand feed sacks produced by Maritime Milling Co. Inc. out of South Buffalo, New York: one of the most important milling companies in American history. the left leg carries the bold allover BB monogram print; the right leg carries the ingredient panel from their BB Fattening Mash poultry feed, printed in fading red and blue. same brand, two different sacks: cut and sewn together as one.
Maritime Milling ran out of South Buffalo from the early 1900s through 1957, when they merged and then went bankrupt. the mill was torn down. these sacks are what's left.
the cotton has aged to the softest blush-cream, the prints faded just enough to feel like a memory. elastic waist, wide leg, relaxed fit that moves.
